“A guy walks into a bar...” is a typical form of what has been called the “bar joke.” A Texas version is:

“A young Texan walks into a bar and orders a drink. ‘Got any ID?’ asks the bartender. The Texan replies, ‘About what?’”

The joke has been cited in print since a least 2007.
