“Afraid of not getting what you ordered with online shopping? Try online dating!” is a saying that has been printed on many images. The joke is that online dating could be better, but is probably worse.

“MAXINE - Afraid of not getting what you ordered with online shopping? Ha! Try online dating! http://fb.me/2n2jVmcf2” was posted on Twitter by Lily Thompson on November 30, 2013. The saying originated from a comic illustration of the “Maxine” character by John Wagner.

“Recipes are like online dates. They never look like the picture” is another saying about online dating.
