“Alcohol is yeast urine”

Yeast is the waste of the fermentation process. “And just look at how many folk love to drink yeast urine” was posted on alt.sex on June 21, 1994. “Yeast urine?  after all, “beer” is a by-product of yeast” was posted on the newsgroup soc.culture.asian.american on April 3, 1997. “Beer is the same thing, who wants to drink the urine of yeast?” was posted on the newgroup alt.alt.alt.alt.alt on September 25, 1997.

The “yeast urine” saying has been used for both alcohol and beer. “Beer: ‘Nectar of the Gods, or the urine of yeast?’” was posted on Twitter on January 27, 2009. “Alcohol is yeast urine” was posted on Twitter on September 24, 2009.

“Honey is bee vomit” is another unpleasant saying that is sometimes included with the “alcohol is yeast urine” saying.

Alcohol Is Yeast Urine!
Alcohol is yeast urine! Yeast are tiny animals that, through the process of fermentation, convert sugar plus water into ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide gas. These two products constitute the bodily wastes of yeast. Now multicellular animals give off carbon dioxide when they exhale during the respiratory cycle. But what can be said of the alcohol?

Since ethyl alcohol is a liquid, it can be compared to the water-soluble urine produced by other, more complex, animals.

And just look at how many folk love to drink yeast urine. Sorry if I hurt somebodies “delicate sensibilities” but if you read this group I doubt you qualify as having “delicate sensiblities” (thats more of a uphanism for “ignorant”) 😊

I don’t drink wine. Something about fermented fruit doesn’t settle right in my stomach. Beer is the same thing, who wants to drink the urine of yeast?
