“All you need in life are a few good friends and a few good drinks”

“All you need in life are a few good friends and a few good drinks” was called an “old adage” in a 2014 article, but the line appears to be from an episode of the New York City-based television romantic sitcom Sex and the City (broadcast on HBO from 1998 to 2004). The following line was cited in print in 2005:

“Theres comes a point somewhere between bad hangovers and drunken heart to hearts, when you realize all you ever really need in life are a few good friends and a few good drinks.”

Wikipedia: Sex and the City
Sex and the City is an American television romantic sitcom created by Darren Star and produced by HBO. Broadcast from 1998 until 2004, the original run of the show had a total of 94 episodes. Throughout its six-year run, the show received contributions from various producers, writers and directors, perhaps most significantly from Michael Patrick King.

Set and filmed in New York City and based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell, the show follows the lives of a group of four women—three in their mid-thirties and one in her forties—who, despite their different natures and ever-changing sex lives, remain inseparable and confide in each other.

Personality Traits Help Your Circle Of Friends Predict Your Life Span

By Lizette Borreli @lizcelineb
There may be some truth to the old adage “All you need in life are a few good friends and a few good drinks.” Your circle of friends may be better judges of the personality traits you possess that are associated with longevity, at least, according to a study in a forthcoming issue in the journal Psychological Science.
