Apple Awards (Guides Association of New York City)

The Guides Association of New York City (GANYC) is a private group; all members are tour guides licensed by the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs. An apple is part of the association’s logo.

The GANYC’s first annual Apple Awards ceremony was held in March 2015. The Public Relations Society of America-New York Chapter began their similarly named annual “Big Apple Awards” in 1988, LISC NY began their annual “Big Apple Innovation Awards” in 2003, and New York City’s public school teachers began their annual “Big Apple Awards” in 2013.

SOME NICE NEWS
I recently received some nice news that I thought I’d share. The Guides Association of New York City (GANYC) will be holding their First Annual GANYC Apple Awards ceremony in March of 2015. The association has informed me that I’ve been nominated for one of their awards, the one for “Outstanding Achievement in Support of NYC Culture.” Needless to say, I’m extremely flattered by the nomination.
