The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic resulted in social distancing. Many stores placed “X” markers on the ground for people to stand on, but it reminded many people of the Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner cartoons, where the “X” was for Wile E. Coyote to attack when the Road Runner steps on it.

I went to the grocery store today and saw an Cross mark on the floor, near the register.
I guess I was supposed to stand there, but I’ve seen too many Road Runner cartoons to fall for that crap.
