“Bacon is meat candy” is a jocular description that has been cited in print since at least 2005.  “Bacon: candy of meats” was cited on Twitter on May 21, 2007. “Bacon would have to be on top - it tastes great on any other meat - it’s the candy of meat!” was cited in print the next day, on May 22. 2007.

Both “Bacon is the candy of meats” and “Bacon is the candy of meat” were cited in print in January 2008.
