Bantam Bagels
Bantam Bagels are mini, filled bagel balls!
Bantam Bagels is different than any other New York bagel shop. Why? Because at Bantam Bagels we produce fresh, filled, artisanal bagel balls known as “Bantams.” With Bantam Bagels, you can enjoy your beloved crispy, chewy, perfectly baked New York bagel in a unique miniature version. Not to mention, our bite size Bantams are filled instead of topped, allowing for easy eating on the go! Baked fresh every day, and with a variety of delicious filling and bagel combinations to choose from, our guilt-free morsels mean that you can taste multiple flavors in one sitting without feeling guilty about eating too much of a great thing. Imagine that? Big flavor for the price of a small indulgence… pretty hard to refuse!

Bagel Balls Roll Into West Village With Opening Of Bantam Bagels
By Nell Casey in Food on Sep 3, 2013 11:15 AM
Step aside, Squagel; there’s a new bagel innovation in town. Say hello to the Bantam, an orbed bagel bite stuffed—instead of schmeared—with a variety of fillings from flavored cream cheeses to butter to lox and tomato. This latest carby creation comes from Bantam Bagels, a brand new bagelry that opened its doors in the West Village this morning. Owners Nick and Elyse Oleksak hope to reinvent the bagel gut-bomb into something easier to eat on the go and less calorically devastating.

All the classic combinations are represented in Bantam form, like Bantams filled with veggie cream cheese, and cinnamon raisin Bantams filled with sweet walnut cream cheese.

Bantam Bagels
The idea for Bantams—mini bagel balls that are filled instead of topped—came to its originator in a dream. At the West Village shop, find lox, tomato, and red-onion cream cheese inside an everything bagel ball and bacon-cheddar cream cheese with maple syrup inside a cheddar-and-egg bagel ball. Or treat yourself to the Cookies & Milk Bantam, a brown-sugar-and-walnut bagel ball filled with sweet chocolate-chip cream cheese. Even though Bantam Bagels just opened last week, these stuffed rounds have made quite a splash already, with write-ups in national publications and cameos on the Today Show.
