“Barbecuation” (barbecue + accusation) is a new coinage.

We have tweeted and you have spoken. Since Texas Monthly released the new 2013 Top 50 BBQ list two days ago via Twitter, we have gotten a mountain of feedback. A dedicated group of passionate barbecue eaters was assembled to create this list, so we’re happy to see that passion matched by the readers.

A couple of followups to Texas Monthly‘s 2013 top 50 barbecue list in which Franklin Barbecue was named the best in Texas. 1. Barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn responds to all the “barbecusations.” And 2. Esquire‘s JIm Shahin dissects the list and offers this prediction for the upcoming issue: “A swipe at Texas-ey Yankee barbecue (Hill Country in NYC and DC; Delaney in Brooklyn; Smoque in Chicago, among others) ... a way to condescend to them while reasserting Texas supremacy.” [TxMo, Esquire]
