“Become ungovernable” is an anti-government slogan that has been printed on many images. The terms “Become ungovernable” and “Be ungovernable” became popular in November 2016, after the U.S. presidential election between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump, the winner. The nation became polarized, and “Has America become ungovernable? - BBC Newsnight” was posted on YouTube on November 1, 2016.

Clemente on November 11, 2016. “We must be #Ungovernable. We must disobey. #PresidentTrump” was posted on Twitter by MintPress News on November 12, 2016. “2017: the year we become ungovernable” by Cory Doctorow was published on boingboing on January 2, 2017.
   
There was a website (ungovernable2017.com), and protests were planned for January 2017. “BECOME UNGOVERNABLE” was a popular sign at these protests.

The slogan “become ungovernable” gained notable popularity online in late 2016 and early 2017, appearing in a number of blog articles about far-left and anarchist protests during that period. On January 21st, 2017, at Oakland Women’s March, protestors carried a sign reading “Become ungovernable,” with the photographs shared online and appearing in media (shown below, left and center). On February 4th, 2017, Tumblr user sproutdistro posted a “Be Ungovernable” poster, which gained over 1,200 likes and reblogs (shown below, right).
