“Being on the wrong side of history as it repeats itself is like failing an open book test”

It’s especially bad to be on the wrong side of history when there are so many historical examples (such as the Spanish Flu of 1918 and the rise of totalitarian government regimes) and history repeats itself. A saying became popular in several forms in 2020 and 2021, during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

“how u gonna be on what wrong side of history while it’s repeating itself like bro ur failing an open note test”  was posted on Twitter by liv on June 2, 2020. (The tweet is no longer available because the account was removed from Twitter.)

“Imagine being on the wrong side of history while it repeats itself. Like failing an open-book test” was posted on Twitter by Kevin Sorbo on August 2, 2021.

Bro. History is literally repeating yourself and you’re STILL on the wrong side of history. This is an open book test and you’re failing.
But please, continue to talk about memes. IDIOT.

History is repeating itself and people are still on the wrong side of it. They’re failing a real life open-book test and don’t even know it.

I just heard this. “How are so many of us on the wrong side of history when it’s repeating itself? How are so many of us failing an open book test?”
Ask your selves why are those who lived through segregation who are alive today still feel we are fighting the same war?
