“Big Apple” answer in Jeopardy! game show (2022)

The American television game show Jeopardy! asked on April 21, 2022:

“This nickname was first used in connection with New York City in the 1920s.”

The correct answer is, “The Big Apple.”

“Big Apple” had been used years before on Jeopardy! “A 19th century gambling term meaning a desirable prize, its use in reference to NYC stems from a 1921 newspaper sports column” was asked on the show on July 1, 2009.
