Big Apple Bagels (Illinois bagel chain, 1985-present)

Big Apple Bagels is a chain of bakery-cafes based in Deerfield, Illinois. The stores sell foods such as bagels, sandwiches, coffee, smoothies, frozen yogurt and pizza. Big Apple Bagels was founded in Naperville, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago), by Paul Stolzer (from Mineola, Long Island) in 1985, according to an article in the Chicago (IL) Tribune on March 1, 1992. “Big Apple Bagels” was trademarked with a first use date in 1986.

The Wikipedia page for Big Apple Bagels states that the company was started by Paul Stolzer in October 1993, and the Big Apple Bagels website also gives a 1993 date. This is not correct; perhaps it refers to franchising.
