Big Apple Ball (Donald Trump Presidential Inauguration, 2017)

There were three official inaugural balls in January 2017 to celebrate the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump. An unofficial ball, called DeploraBall, was probably the most famous ball.

A “Big Apple Ball” was held at Walter E. Washington Convention Center on January 17, 2021. According to the Daily News (New York, NY) on January 17, 2017:

“The city-scented soiree will feature cutouts of iconic Manhattan landmarks like the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, TMZ reported last week, and the fete’s theme will be entirely based on the line, ‘If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere,’ from ‘Theme From New York, New York,’ popularized by Frank Sinatra.”

The first “Big Apple Ball” was a failed charity ball held in May 1973.
