Big Apple Diner (Whitehall, NY, 1987-present)

The Big Apple Diner in the hamlet of Low Hampton, at 11850 US-4 near Whitehall, New York, opened in 1987. The name “Big Apple” is because the building was rented from the Vermont Apple Company. The Big Apple Diner is not located in New York City and is not New York City-themed.

Outside of Whitehall, NY there is a diner called The Big Apple Diner. Now, it was neither shaped like an apple nor in NYC. What’s with name?
