BLT (Bites, Licks and Tastes)

“BLT” usually refers to a BLT sandwich (bacon, lettuce and tomato). Dieting organizations such as Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig have another meaning for “BLT”—bites, licks and tastes. People often don’t record bites, licks and tastes in their food diaries, but there are calories from each of these small “BLTs.”

“BLT’s (bites, licks and tastes)” has been cited in print since at least 1984.

No, not bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches… bits, licks and tastes! This helpful tip comes from a Skinny cousin of mine, Kristie Kinderman: Every bit, lick and taste adds up quickly when you’re watching your calories. So think twice (and even three times) before you have that extra bite, lick or taste!

I ony had a one pound weight loss this week and I followed the eating plan well, and exercised. So better down than up but it was a little discouraging. I mean I followed the plan exactly right? Wrong! I didn’t account for my bites, licks and tastes (BLT’s for short) What the?
