AUG. 13 VS. D.C. UNITED The Red Bulls-D.C. rivalry is one of MLS’ fiercest and dates back to the league’s inception. Will a similar hatred build between United and the new boys in blue?

Ostensibly in honor of “Earth Day,” which is clearly a not-real and made-up thing, NYCFC and Adidas have joined up with Parley for the Oceans to dress the Boys in Blue in specially-made kits manufactured from plastics fished right out of America’s oceans.

“Boys in Blue” wins poll for favorite NYCFC nickname
The people have spoken!

By Christian A Smith @ChristianSith Apr 18, 2019, 5:11pm EDT
Last week, we ran a poll asking fans what their favorite New York City FC was. Though the names used to describe NYCFC and their image are seemingly endless, we kept it simple and offered the five most popular options:

1.) Pigeons
2.) City
3.) Blues
4.) Bronx Blues

A fifth options of “Other/None of the above” was also offered.

After collecting a total of 455 votes, the “Boys in Blue” moniker was chosen as the fan favorite, gaining 182 votes, 40% of all collected.
