“Bread and cheese are slang terms for money. So, I’m stacking grilled cheese sandwiches”

The food terms “bread” and “cheddar” and “cheese” are also slang terms meaning “money.” There are several jokes. “Bread is money. Money is Gouda. I’m about to make one hell of grilled cheese” was posted on Twitter by KMAC on May 19, 2010. “They call money dough, bread, and cheese. Why not call it a grilled cheese? BRINGIN’ HOME THAT GC! #getmoney.” was posted on Twitter by babyspice666 on February 26, 2011.

“Money can be referred to in slang as both ‘bread’ and ‘cheddar.’ In this essay, I propose we merge pre-existing metaphorical practices by referring to money as ‘grilled cheese’” was posted on Twitter by Emmanuel Clement’s Brain on October 30, 2018. “Bread is a slang term for money. Cheese is also a slang term for money. Therefore grilled cheese sandwiches are the ultimate form of wealth” was posted on Reddit—Showerthoughts on June 27, 2019.

If cheddar and bread are slang for money, is a grilled cheese sandwich made with only cheddar cheese slang for boat loads of money?
