“Censorship is the hallmark of neoliberalism”

Many people have pointed out that neoliberals advocate censorship.

“‘PC’ censorship is a symptom of neoliberalism, not progressivism itself” was posted on Twitter by @mechanesthesia on May 17, 2016. “‘Censorship, the formative mechanism of neoliberal culture? The productive function of prohibition’” by Ewa Majewska is the title of a November 2017 research paper.

“Censorship is essentially the hallmark of neoliberalism” was said by American television host and conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson on Tucker Carlson Tonight, Fox News, on April 4, 2022. “Censorship is the life blood of neoliberalism” was posted on Twitter by Sal the Agorist on April 16, 2016.

Wikipedia: Neoliberalism
Neoliberalism, or neo-liberalism, is a term used to describe the 20th-century resurgence of 19th-century ideas associated with free-market capitalism. A significant factor in the rise of conservative and libertarian organizations, political parties, and think tanks, and predominantly advocated by them, it is generally associated with policies of economic liberalization, including privatization, deregulation, globalization, free trade, austerity and reductions in government spending in order to increase the role of the private sector in the economy and society; however, the defining features of neoliberalism in both thought and practice have been the subject of substantial scholarly debate.

“PC” censorship is a symptom of neoliberalism, not progressivism itself. If certain views cause an entity to lose customers, they’re gone.

Neoliberalism, cancel culture and censorship is forcing a lot of people on the left like Kim Iversen to look for alliances on the right.

The neoliberals have lost their fucking minds in the west. Censorship is growing and they’ve convinced the people to not care or be interested in this radical manipulation of information.

Tucker: Censorship now defines America’s public conversation
By Fox News Staff | Fox News
This is a rush transcript from “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” April 4, 2022. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.
TUCKER CARLSON, FOX NEWS CHANNEL HOST: Good evening and welcome to TUCKER CARLSON TONIGHT.

It’s a good day in America, maybe a rare good day, we’re going to celebrate no matter what. Here’s the context for why it’s good. Censorship.

Censorship is essentially the hallmark of neoliberalism. Have you noticed that? Our leaders seem to spend a lot more time trying to control what we say and think than trying to improve our country, and that means that anyone who orders the wrong words even accidentally gets fired or banned or ostracized or even charged with a crime, we’ve seen that too.
