“Cinema means sin and enema”

"Cinema,” for those who dislike the movies, is a word that combines “sin” and “enema.” The book I Lost My Heart in Hollywood: Diary of a Dick (2011) by Will Veharo explained:

“With an ‘s.’ Sin-e-ma. Or may it’s sin-enema. The shit flows out of the theater and gets flushed down your brain.”

“No wonder some people believe that the word ‘cinema. is a combination of ‘sin’ and ‘enema,’” Thomas DiLorenzo wrote on LewRockwell.com on February 12, 2013. DiLorenzo made a similar comment on LewRockwell.com Blog on June 11, 2018.

Trying to come up with a joke about how “cinema = sin + enema” and I’m stumped. Are poop jokes still funny?

Thanks 2 everyone who came out & braved a tropical storm to hear me sing filth. It was an evening that put the sin & enema back into cinema.
