“Conned-sumer” of “connedsumer” (conned + consumer) is a term used to describe a consumer who is being conned by a seller. The term was coined in the title of the book The Intelligent Consumer: How Not To Be A “Conned-sumer” (1975) by Geshon J. Wheeler. “Conned-sumer” has had infrequent use, but has become more popular on the Internet in the 2000s.
