Conspiratainment (conspiracy + entertainment)

“Conspiratainment” (conspiracy + entertainment) is a term used for media programs that specialize in conspiracy theories; one such television program was even titled Conspiracy Theory. The work of Alex Jones has frequently been dubbed as “conspiratainment.”

“Conspiratainment radio host Greg Szymanski” was cited in print in 2005.

JIM HANSON’S DE-VINE REVELATION
Yage-tripping former Republicans for 9/11 Truth?

[note: I’ve been getting away from the fun old game of ridiculing fraudsters lately, focusing on solidifying my own case and doing more serious research, but just found this little gem from the Idaho Observer, February 2005, which I had missed before.]

Before he discovered the truth of 9/11, Jim Hanson of Columbus Ohio was a five-decade Republican and “former district campaign manager for Richard Nixon,” as conspiratainment radio host Greg Szymanski explained in a February 2005 piece for the Idaho Observer. Szymanski was talking to the retired attorney because of an excellent 1/2 page ad he had taken out in the Columbus Dispatch newspaper “denouncing the Bush administration specifically concerning one photo of the Pentagon crash, which he claims will prove government complicity in 9/11.”

Okay I have to comment … first of all, if you are gonna hand out awards for the originators of what you consider crazy-talk, “insan-o-tainment” or “conspiratainment” as some others call it, you should at least go to the equally loud originating source: Alex Jones.

The Conspiratainment Complex

Conspiracy Theory lacks credibility because it has no history. Original research doesn’t get cited so much as looted, refitted as filler content to feed new revelations to a hungry audience. They know what they like because they like what they know. It is a product that gets updated for new audiences through a self-selected succession of upstart entrepreneurs. Mae Brussel becomes Lyndon LaRouche becomes Alex Jones.

It’s hard to exaggerate how hollowed out the Conspiratainment Complex has become in 2010.

Urban Dictionary
Conspiratainment
Dramatics created by conflicting theories, between conspiracy theorists, and their followers.
Alex Jones on ‘The View’ with Charlie Sheen is conspiritainment. David Icke’s theory of shape-shifting reptilian entities leading a one-world government is often used in debates between celebrity conspiratainers. Jessie Ventura’s show ,“Conspiracy Theory” is pure conspiratainment. Anything put out by the likes of David Wilcock,Ben Fulford,or Sorcha Faal and anyone who alligns themselves with these disinformation agents creates conspiratainment gold. Rifts that divide between subsections within certain conspiracy, for example the 9/11 truth movement provides plenty of conspiratainment; Plane-Huggers vs. No-Planers is conspiratainment .
