The 2020 COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic helped to create the portmanteau word “coronatarian,” meaning “coronavirus” and either “vegetarian” or “authoritarian.”
   
“A true coronatarian” was posted on Twitter by The Zen Kangaroo Lover on February 26, 2020. “Coronatarians” was posted on Twitter by Theodore on March 17, 2020. “Coronatarian Meat eaters who went vegetarian but turned back into carnivores because of the Coronavirus pandemic and their desire for meaty comfort food from their childhood” was entered in the Urban Dictionary on May 3, 2020. “I don’t want to think about the cost of meats. I told my family, we’re about to be Coronatarians. Vegetarians because of the Coronavirus” was posted on Twitter by MsLisa2U on May 25, 2020.
