Coveard (COVID-19/coronavirus + beard)

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic caused many people to quarantine, and many men grew beards, called “coveard” (COVID-19/coronavirus + beard).

“I’ve started growing my #coveard - my social distancing beard. A scary looking, scraggly beard will help people keep their distance right?” was posted on Twitter by Matt MacDonald on Marc 16, 2020. “On Day 6 of my COVID beard, a/k/a my #coveard” was posted on Twitter by John B. O’Keefe on March 17, 2020. “Spread the #COVeard word” was posted on Twitter by Jonathan not Johnathan on March 19, 2020.

“Isobeard” (isolation + beard) is a similar term.

Wikipedia: 2019-20 coronavirus outbreak
The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The outbreak was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei, China, in December 2019, and was recognised as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March 2020.

Behold the dubious majesty of the COVeard!
Friends know I’m historically incapable of growing a proper beard or moustache but since we’re on lockdown I was curious to see how bad it is now. This is from not… https://instagram.com/p/B-Mp5YSpsbp/?igshid=1ur3x1v86douu

Current top contender for “best portmanteau describing this awful facial hair I am letting go wild while in quarantine” is #Coveard.  Can we do better?
