“Discipline is just choosing between what you want now and what you want most”

"Discipline is (just) choosing between what you want now and what you want most” is an inspirational saying that has been printed on many images. “‘Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.’- Abraham Lincoln” was posted on Facebook on June 17, 2013, but Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) never said it.

“‘Discipline is the difference between what you want now and what you want most.’-Ann Vertel” was posted on the newsgroup alt.support.diet.weightwatchers on May 24, 2006. It’s probable that Dr. Ann Vertel originated the saying.

Since reading this quote a few days ago I’ve continued to think about it quite a bit.
