“Don’t worry, it’s okay to drink white after Labor Day” is a drinking saying that has been printed on many images. The saying is a jocular variation of the old fashion rule, “never wear white after Labor Day.”
     
The book Sniffing the Cork: And Other Wine Myths Demystified (2002) by Judy Beardsall states:
 
“It is not to say that you can only drink Tuscan wines in the autumn or that you can neither wear white nor drink white after Labor Day. The truth is that wines go with everything and there really are no hard-and-fast rules to worry about.”
 
“OK to drink white after Labor Day” was an article in the Rochester (NY) Democrat and Chronicle on August 30, 2005. “Don’t worry everyone, it’s ok to drink white after labor day” was posted on Twitter by McBride Sisters on September 6, 2012. There really is no wine rule comparable to the fashion rule; it’s more jocular than factual.
