The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is part of the Department of Health and Human Services and is responsible for food safety, drug safety and other issues. The unflattering FDA nickname “Fatal Drugs Allowed” has been cited in print since at least 1995, used by those who believe that the FDA incorrectly approves the faulty products of large pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Betty Martini, founder of Mission Possible World Health International, possibly coined the FDA nickname “Fatal Drugs Allowed” and has used it in many online articles.
   
Other FDA nicknames include “Federal Death Administration,” “Federal Disinformation Agency,” “Federal Dumb Asses,” “Fraud and Death Administration,” “Fraud and Deception Administration,” “Fraud and Deception Agency” and “Fucking Dumb Asses.”

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or USFDA) is an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, one of the United States federal executive departments. The FDA is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the regulation and supervision of food safety, tobacco products, dietary supplements, prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceutical drugs (medications), vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, blood transfusions, medical devices, electromagnetic radiation emitting devices (ERED), veterinary products, and cosmetics.
 
The FDA also enforces other laws, notably Section 361 of the Public Health Service Act and associated regulations, many of which are not directly related to food or drugs. The FDA is led by the Commissioner of Food and Drugs, appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Commissioner reports to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 21st and current Commissioner is Dr. Margaret A. Hamburg. She has served as Commissioner since February 2009.
 
The FDA has its headquarters at Silver Spring, Maryland and has 223 field offices and 13 laboratories located throughout the 50 states, the United States Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. In 2008, the FDA started opening offices in foreign countries, including China, India, Costa Rica, Chile, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.

The FDA brochure also says you can’t heat aspartame, but our Fatal Drugs Allowed folks forget they said that and in l993 approved aspartame for baked goods.  Today you can go in your grocer’s bakery and get formaldehyde pie.

What about the FDA? Wouldn’t they take Aspartame off the market if it was so harmful? Dr. Betty Martine, founder of Mission Possible, a world wide organization working to ban artificial sweeteners calls the FDA, Fatal Drugs Allowed. In a perfect world government agencies would support the greater good, not the greater greed of big business.
