Planet Fitness (a fitness center franchise) trademarked the term “fitacular” in 2021. It is a portmanteau of the words “fit” (or “fitness”) and “spectacular.”
 
“Fitacular” had been used before 2021, however. “Flex Family Fitness Presents FITacular” was printed in The Daily Journal (Vineland, NJ) on October 17, 2007. “Fitacular Fun Fair, 10 a.m., White Oaks Mall, Springfield” was printed in the Herald & Review (Decatur, IL), on March 26, 2009. “FITacular!” was posted on Twitter by Heather Frey on March 11, 2011. “Fitacular Fitness isn’t just a group” was posted on Twitter by Fitacular Fitness on July 5 2013.
