“Fruit, like people, have bellybuttons where they were plucked”

The stem of a fruit has sometimes been compared to a human belly button. “Fruit and vegetables all have belly buttons” was posted on Reddit—Showerthoughts on February 15, 2017.

Wild realisation of the night: All fruit have bellybuttons. Noticed the parallel while washing a peach which fit my pinky just right.

It occurred to me when I was washing my “Belly Button” that all fruit and vegetables have a “Belly Button” too. And the stalk/stem coming out of the top is the umbilical cord.
Apples, Oranges, Bananas, Cucumbers, Tomatoes etc… all have Belly Buttons, and were attached to the plant via some kind of umbilical cord.
I was thinking when we were in the womb all our food, nutrients, air etc all came from the umbilical cord hooked up to our belly buttons, and when we are ready to be “picked” or “ripe” we pluck off the cord and it seals up over time.

Theory: apples & pears are actually the same fruit. It’s just that apples have inny bellybuttons & pears have outies

Fruit DO have belly buttons, but they are at the top of their heads. Now that’s silly. Vegetables have no belt buttons (some do).

But fruit is tastier than people.
