Goolag (Google + gulag)

The American technology company Google has been called “Goolag” (Google + gulag) by those who believe that Google’s corporate vision suppresses free speech on the internet. The Google logo is replaced with a “Goolag” logo.

“‘Goolag’ Google hacking tool” was posted on Twitter on March 24, 2008. “Goolag” was also used on Twitter on December 26, 2012. “Google the Goolag of privacy” was posted on Twitter on June 23, 2015.

In August 2017, Google engineer James Damore wrote a “Google memo” about Google’s lack of diversity, and Damore was fire on August 7th. The term “Goolag” went viral on August 8, 2017.

Goolag may refer to:

. A nickname for internet behemoth Google after a controversial firing of an employee that brought up discomforting views of gender differences. The former employee, James Damore, likened the corporate culture to a cult where no dissent from left wing orthodoxy is allowed
. A misspelling of gulag, the government body responsible for administering prison camps across the former Soviet Union
. Cult of the Dead Cow, Goolag campaign, a campaign critical of Google corporation’s cooperation with the Internet censorship policies of the People’s Republic of China. As of 2017, the “Goolag” epithet has regained currency in the wake of the Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber incident.
. a PHP application designed to operate Google Desktop Search (GDS).

Wikipedia: Google
Google is an American multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products. These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, software, and hardware. Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University, in California. Together, they own about 14 percent of its shares, and control 56 percent of the stockholder voting power through supervoting stock. They incorporated Google as a privately held company on September 4, 1998. An initial public offering (IPO) took place on August 19, 2004, and Google moved to its new headquarters in Mountain View, California, nicknamed the Googleplex. In August 2015, Google announced plans to reorganize its various interests as a conglomerate called Alphabet Inc. Google, Alphabet’s leading subsidiary, will continue to be the umbrella company for Alphabet’s Internet interests. Upon completion of the restructure, Sundar Pichai was appointed CEO of Google; he replaced Larry Page, who became CEO of Alphabet.

Wikipedia: Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber
“Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber”, often referred to as the Google memo, is an internal memo written by American-based Google engineer James Damore on the company’s ideological stance toward diversity. In the memo, Damore argued that Google had shut down the conversation about diversity, and posited “that the distribution of preferences and abilities of men and women differ in part due to biological causes and that these differences may explain why we don’t see equal representation of women in tech and leadership”. Google CEO Sundar Pichai responded by saying that the memo “[advanced] harmful gender stereotypes”, and on August 7 Damore was fired for violating the company’s code of conduct.

The memo and Google’s subsequent dismissal of Damore were widely discussed in the media, and triggered fierce social media discussions.

Wikipedia: Gulag
The Gulag (Russian: ГУЛАГ, tr. GULAG; IPA: [ɡʊˈlak]; acronym of Главное управление лагерей, Glavnoye Upravleniye LAGerej, “Main Camps’ Administration” or “Chief Administration of Corrective Labor Camps”) was the government agency that administered and controlled the Soviet forced-labor camp system during Joseph Stalin’s rule from the 1930s up until the 1950s. The term is also commonly used to reference any forced-labor camp in the Soviet Union, including in post-Stalin times. The camps housed a wide range of convicts, from petty criminals to political prisoners. Large numbers were convicted by simplified procedures, such as NKVD troikas (secret police) and other instruments of extrajudicial punishment. The Gulag is recognized as a major instrument of political repression in the Soviet Union.

READING JAMES DAMORE’S GOOGLE MEMO : THE GOOLAG MANIFESTO!
08/09/2017 · by Silanga ·
A google memo was leaked to the public in early august 2017. Media sources got a hold of it and proceeded to spin it to seem like a racist and misogynist screed. I read the document for myself, and suggest you do as well.

Toxic Male

Think different, get fired. Think like a snowflake, get hired.
James Damore, a software engineer at Google, wrote a memo in which he argued that there are differences between men and women that may explain, in part, why there are fewer women than men in his field of work. For this, Google fired him.

GOOGLE needs to change its name to “GOOLAG”
When the Google/Youtube thought-Nazis start censoring, banning, and demonitizing the free speech of conservatives and anti-Islam activists, it’s high time for a smart entreprenuer to swoop in and lure away the users from these far-left online monopolies that reuse to allow politically incorrect opinions. Freedom of speech does NOT give you the right to be offended.
