Guess the Religion

"Guess the religion,” popularized by Debbie Schlussel on her website, occurs when the news media—following the Islamic terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001—doesn’t identify the religion of suspected terrorists. The media, perhaps fearing charges of Islamophobia, is reluctant to identify terror suspects as Muslim, often disregarding the facts and circumstances of a news story.

“Guess the religion” has been cited in print since at least 2006.  “Name that party” is a similar liberal news bias that omits the “Democrat” identification from politically damaging stories.

Subject: My New Gameshow: Guess the Religion!

Well, “Guess the Religion” because apparently I’m not very bright and can’t remember which group does this.

There’s a group where the females are always wearing skirts to the ankles, always preferring jean-type material. Think these are Mormons, or some other crazy cult/sect/circle-jerk I’m not remembering?

New London Terror Foiled: Reaping What They’ve Sown in Britain; Guess the Religion
By Debbie Schlussel
Time for another edition of “Guess the Religion.”
A homicide car bomb attack foiled in London’s Picadilly Circus, today.
“International elements are involved.” Hmmm . . . what does “international elements” mean? Nice, creative new euphemism for a certain religion that has international elements and a huge presence in London and the rest of Britain. But, gee, who could it be?

Sharif Ahmed Nour – Guess the Religion: Somali Cabbie w/ “Bomb Components” in Apartment
By Debbie Schlussel
Clearly, the FBI must have found something very serious and scary in the Irving, Texas apartment of Sharif Ahmed Nour because they were going to charge him with possessing “bomb-making components” and the media is already preparing his defense for him, saying he “may have been mentally disturbed.”

Hey, another attempted terrorist attack on U.S. soil.  This time, the guy is from the “former Yugoslavia” a/k/a Kosovo.  And, as reader Mikhail sarcastically states, “I assume this guy is Yugoslavian Amish.” I told him, no, the guy’s gotta be Yugoslavian Wiccan.
