“Have you guys tried General Tso Tso’s chicken? It’s alright”

General Tso’s chicken (a dish popularized in New York City) isn’t called “General Tso Tso’s chicken,” but there are some “so-so” jokes.

Their chef’s special was General Tso Tso’s Chicken” was posted on Twitter by Bob Ingersoll on January 19, 2010. “This General Tso&Tso’s Chicken is pretty mediocre” was posted on Twitter by Drake Pieper on December 4, 2012. “General Tso Tso’s chicken is just okay…” was posted on Twitter by Donnie Sengstack on November 21, 2013.

Wikipedia: General Tso’s chicken
General Tso’s chicken (pronounced [tswò]) ( (also General Tse’s chicken)) is a sweet deep-fried chicken dish that is served in North American Chinese restaurants. The dish is named after Zuo Zongtang (also romanized Tso Tsung-t’ang), a Qing dynasty statesman and military leader, although there is no recorded connection to him nor is the dish known in Hunan, Zuo’s home province.

General Tso Tso’s chicken never really gained popularity due to lack of enthusiasm about the product.

If you order General Tso’s Chicken and it isn’t very good, you could call it General Tso Tso’s Chicken.
