“Eating Out Is Fun!” (Texas Restaurant Association)

“Eating Out Is Fun!” is a slogan that the National Restaurant Association first used in 1947. The Texas Restaurant Association used “Eating Out Is Fun!” in 1956 and regularly for many years after that, so the slogan is most remembered from Texas restaurants.

18 June 1956, Dallas (TX) Morning News, part 3, pg. 3:
That theme was visibly evident when a delegation of Teas Restaurant Association men and their wives turned out Sunday at Union Terminal to meet Sabatos’ train.

Their white chef hats were decorated with bands which read:

“Eating Out Is Fun! Step out, dine where you see this emblem” (of the Texas Restaurant Association).

7 October 1956, Dallas (TX) Morning News, part 7, pg. 6:

The slogan for the observance is: “Eating Out is Fun!”

27 November 1998, Fort Worth (TX) Star-Telegram, pg. 32:
For your family and friends who subscribe to the Texas Restaurant Association’s old slogan, “Eating out is fun,” there are several delightful ways to win your way to their hearts through their bellies.
