“Hey girl, are you a cop? Because you’ve taken my breath away”

The deaths of African Americans such as Eric Garner (in Staten Island on July 17, 2014) and George Floyd (in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020) at the hands of police resulted in protests. Garner was under a choke hold and repeated “I can’t breathe” eleven times before his death.
