“Hey, if anyone knows how to fix some broken hinges, my door’s always open”

“My door is always open”—meaning that one is welcome—is what some administrators and businesspeople say. “If anyone out there is interested in learning how to fix hinges, my door is always open” is a joke that was posted on Twitter by Richard Carroll on June 13, 2014.

Comedian Paul F. Taylor said at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2016:

“Hey, if anyone knows how to fix some broken hinges, my door’s always open.”
