Here's Help for a No-Name Neighborhood

Two weeks ago on this page, Jonathan R. Butler offered some names for his no-name neighborhood, south of Houston and west of the Avenue of the Americas. The City asked readers for their own suggestions. Here is a selection:
To the Editor:
I live in the West Village (easy enough) so I don't have a lot of experience with neighborhood neologisms, but I think a place bounded by Broome Street, Houston Street and the Holland Tunnel should be called Broo-HoHo.

Our Curbed-minded reader writes that he'd always known the place as "Hudson Square," and adds: "By whatever name, the neighborhood is easy to pinpoint; it's just difficult to name. I think Curbed once had a post that listed all of the different names it goes by. My favorite remains 'HOHO,' since it's between HOuston and the HOlland Tunnel."

"It's North TriBeCa, West SoHo, South Village," says (Giancarlo -- ed.) Giangola, who bought into The Urban Glass House. 'We've been calling ti West SoHo, just north of TriBeCa."
"It's Hudson Square, least that's what I've been told," says Amir Khamneipur, who has also bought a place in the area.
"No one likes Hudson Square; for some reason, people associate that name with closer to Javits Center, even though it's not," says Abe Shnay, an Urban Glass House developer. "We've been calling it SoHo West."
"I've heard HoHo," says James Lansill of The Sunshine Group.
What exactly does that mean?
"Hmm, I don't remember."
