“Hypotwit” or “hypoTwit” (hypocrite + twit/Twitter) has applied to a Twitter user or to the Twitter company itself. “Does that make you a HypoTwit?” was posted on Twitter by Joseph Nilo on July 27, 2007. “I’m a hypotwit: I cannot defend my use of it, but I still do it” was posted on Twitter by Sean Keegan-Landis on November 7, 2008.

In a recent tweet about Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari’s national ban on Twitter, Twitter declared that access to its platform is an “essential human right.” Yet Twitter blocks people from its platform regularly. Hence, Twitter is guilty of countless human rights abuses.
