“I got an apartment over a bank. Now my assets over 10 million dollars”

A money joke was told by The Unknown Comic (Murray Langston) on television’s The Gong Show (1976-1980):

“I got an apartment over a bank. Now my assets over 10 million dollars.”

The joke also appeared in Langston’s screenplay for the movie Night Patrol (1984). “My assets” is pronounced like “my ass sets.”

The money amount sometimes differs. “I live over a bank, my assets over 20 million” was posted on Twitter on November 16, 2017. “I moved into an apartment over a bank. My assets over five million dollars” was posted on Reddit—Jokes on January 17, 2018.

He starred also in a movie years ago called “Night Patrol”  with Billy Barty, Linda Blair, Pat Paulson, (talk about forgotten stars) Andrew “Dice” Clay and .... and ....  there’s one more but can’t think of her name right now. He played a cop during the day trying to solve different crimes by the same person—called the bag man.  At night - he had a night club act as ..... “The Unknown Comic.” There’s jokes all through the movie.
