“I love my boss (I’m self-employed)”

"I love my boss. I love my job. I’m self-employed” is a jocular saying that has been printed on many images. The bumper sticker saying has been cited in print since at least 1993.

Back in my power suit, pumps and pantyhose days, at least I had the salary continuation plan, also known as sick leave. Currently, over my desk is a sign that says “I love my job, I love my boss, I’m self-employed.” Really cute, but I don’t offer a salary continuation plan. No work, no pay. I’m tough.
