Is a crime at a running race a race crime? There’s a joke:

“I shot someone with a starting gun. I’ve been charged with race crime.”

The pun was cited on Twitter on October 7, 2009. “Starting gun” is sometimes replaced with “starter’s pistol” in the joke.

Race Crimes/Starting Gun. A starting gun is used for a race. If I shot you with a racing gun. That would be a crime and since its a staarting gun. It would be a RACE crime.
