“Get a life!” is a popular expression. “I was denied life insurance, they said I had to get a life first” is a jocular saying that was posted on the newsgroup powersoft.public.powerbuilder.general on October 15, 1998. “I tried to buy a life insurance policy, but they just laughed and said you need to get a life first” was posted on Twitter by Swedish Canary on January 14, 2016. Authorship is uncertain.
