“I used to run an origami company, but it folded”

An unsuccessful business “folds,” and there’s a classic pun:

“I used to run an origami company, but it folded.”

“I once owned an origami business, until one day it folded” was posted on rec.arts.origami on April 21, 1998.

“The origami shop says business is in creasing” is a related origami joke.

“I used to run a pizza restaurant called Calzone, but it folded” and “I used to work in a blanket factory, but it folded” are similar jokes. “I used to have a riding academy, but business kept falling off” and “Did you hear about the funeral home that closed? Apparently business was dead” are similar business jokes.

Wikipedia: Origami
Origami (折り紙?, from ori meaning “folding”, and kami meaning “paper” (kami changes to gami due to rendaku)) is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture. In modern usage, the word “origami” is used as an inclusive term for all folding practices, regardless of their culture of origin. The goal is to transform a flat sheet square of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. Modern origami practitioners generally discourage the use of cuts, glue, or markings on the paper.

My uncle had an origami company, but it ran into financial problems: though he tried to paper over the cracks it eventually folded.

@GaryDelaney I used to own an origami company, but due to the credit crunch it folded. The main reason though, was it was too cutting edge.
