“I was eating green onions when all of a sudden, I started rhyming. They were rap scallions”

If a scallion starts to rhyme, does that make it a “rap scallion”? There have been many puns.

“And J.M. is an unsavory rap-scallion"/"Scallions do rap music? I did not know that” was posted on the newsgroup rec.music.beatles on July 18, 1996. “Rap Scallion, the Hip Hop Onion” was posted on Twitter on April 26, 2011.

“What do you call a badass onion that knows how to freestyle? A rap scallion” was posted on Reddit—Dad Jokes on August 27, 2014. “I was eating green onions when all of a sudden, I started rhyming everything that I was saying. Shalt.  Is that Chalmattian for shallot?  I mean, what kind of God would go around saying “You’re not an onion, you’re not an onion.”

“I’m green on the top
and I wave it all around
I’m white where it counts
and I’m sticking in the ground
I got roots, mutha fucka
and I’m big on the sound
I’m a rap, rap-scallion,
I’m a rap, rap-scallion.
Bitch, ho.”
