“If a psychologist became a hip hop artist, does it make the music ‘shrink rap’?”

People in the psychology industry have long been nicknamed “shrinks.” This has nothing to do with “shrink wrap,” but there are many puns.

“Psychologists convention: shrink rap” was printed in The Wall Street Journal in 1992, and “Psychiatrist’s jargon: shrink rap” was printed in the same newspaper in 1997. “A psychiatrist sings you the shrink rap” was posted on the newsgroup alt.humor.puns on February 18, 2001. “If Puff Daddy wrote a song about his psychologist, would it be a shrink rap?” was posted on the newsgroup alt.humor.puns on May 22, 2001.

Wikipedia: Shrink wrap
Shrink wrap, also shrink film, is a material made up of polymer plastic film. When heat is applied, it shrinks tightly over whatever it is covering. Heat can be applied with a handheld heat gun (electric or gas), or the product and film can pass through a heat tunnel on a conveyor.
