"If pessimism was/were an Olympic sport...” is the start of a joke. “If pessimism was an Olympic sport… I’d still probably only get bronze at best. #Olympics” was posted on Twitter by Xander Wardell on August 9, 2012. “I’m so pessimistic at the moment, that if pessimism were an Olympic sport, I wouldn’t fancy my chances” was posted on Twitter by pnelnik on August 20, 2012.
“If pessimism was a Olympic sport, I would still not win it” was posted on Reddit—Jokes on June 28, 2019, and on Reddit—Dadjokes on October 22, 2019.
“If laziness was an Olympic sport, I’d come 4th, so I didn’t have to walk up to the podium” and “If procrastination were an Olympic sport, I’d compete in it later” are related sayings.
