“If you can’t drink for three, please leave your place for the professionals” (bar sign)

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic closed many bars for an extended period. When the bars were allowed to open up again, many opened at limited capacity. A sign was displayed at a French bar:

“AVERTISSEMENT
Les bars ont besoin de votre aide!
Ils ne peuvent ouvrir qu’e 1/3 de lewe capacite…
Ceux qui sont incapables de boire pour 3…
MERCI
de laisser la place aux
PROFESSIONNELS”

“WARNING
Bars need your help!
They can only open 1/3 of the capacity ...
Those who are unable to drink for 3 ...
THANK YOU
to make way for
PROFESSIONALS”

“IMPORTANT!! The bars will need our help when they can open with only 1/3 of capacity. Those who can’t drink for three, please don’t take a seat - leave it to the professionals” was posted on Twitter by Bob Granleese on May 6, 2020. “Bars need our help! If they can only open at 1/3 of the capacity, those who can not drink for 3 are kindly asked to step aside & leave it to the professionals!“ was posted on Twitter by Brooke Meyer on May 22, 2020.

Let’s make it clear:
For weeks I have not been running to give my place to athletes.
With the limitation of places to 30% in bars, I beg all those who drink herbal teas and coca 0 de #ResterChezVous and leave room for professionals.

This upcoming June bars are going to need your help. They’ll only be able to open at a third of their capacity so if you can’t drink for three people, please leave the spot open for the professionals.
