“If you leave your children a world where you never stood up, they’ll get one where they can’t”

"If you leave your children a world where you never stood up, they’ll inherit a world where they can’t” is a saying that has been printed on many images.

“parents, IF YOU LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN A WORLD WHERE YOU NEVER STOOD UP, THEY’LL INHERIT A WORLD WHERE THEY CAN’T” (shown on an image) was posted on Facebook by Steve Silva on September 14, 2021. It’s uncertain who created the image.

“If you leave your children a world where you never stood up, they’ll inherit one where they can’t”—with “one” instead of “a world”—was posted on Twitter by Robert J. O’Neill on September 24, 2021, and received over 33,000 likes. The saying often implies standing up to vaccine passports and other government mandates that arose from the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

How far are you willing to let it go?
How far will it go before it cannot be undone?
Are you eyes seeing?
Are your ears hearing?
Are you paying attention?!?!

(Franklin Middle School music teacher Kingsley—ed.) Keys added: “Historically, you’re never forced into compliance by the good guys. My overarching reason to not test is the popular adage: if you leave your children a world where you never stood up, they’ll inherit a world where they can’t.”
