“If you think lawyer jokes are funny—next time you’re in jail, call a comedian” is an anti-“lawyer joke” saying that has been printed on several images.
   
“If you think lawyer jokes are funny, the next time you’re in jail call a comedian” was posted on the newsgroup comp.sys.palmtops.pilot on February 23, 2000.  “If you think lawyer jokes are funny, next time you need legal assistance, call a comedian” was posted on the newsgroup alt.callahans on June 18, 2003. “And if you think lawyer jokes are funny, next time you’re in a jam, call a comedian” was posted on Twitter by Richard Goldberg, Esq. on August 4, 2010. It’s not known who authored the saying.
