“Wait until the people who just want to be left alone get involved” (or “If you think things are bad now, just wait until the people who just wanted to be left alone get involved”) is a saying that has been printed on many images. The implication is that if the political situation in the country gets bad, it will awaken a sleeping giant in the populace. Authorship is unknown, but the saying has been popularized on many memes, showing the 1979 film Mad Max, Michael Douglas in the 1993 film Falling Down, and Clint Eastwood in the 2008 film Gran Torino.
