“I’m so glad I was taught how to play the recorder at school….” (joke)

Many people are forced to play the recorder at school, but later find that their recorder skills didn’t improve their lives. This joke was posted on Twitter by ššžššš«š„š² on March 9, 2019:

“I’m so glad I was taught how to play the recorder at school. It has come in really handy in adult life, Lost count of the times I’ve resolved a difficult situation with a quick blast of three blind mice.”

“Three Blind Mice” is a typical song that schools teach to play on a recorder.

Wikipedia: Recorder (musical instrument)
The recorder is a family of woodwind musical instruments in the group known as internal duct flutes: flutes with a whistle mouthpiece, also known as fipple flutes. A recorder can be distinguished from other duct flutes by the presence of a thumb-hole for the upper hand and seven finger-holes: three for the upper hand and four for the lower. It is the most prominent duct flute in the western classical tradition.
